Thinking you don’t have time for a few hours of hand-stitching a couture jacket? Why not bring the jacket with you! Seriously, I hand-stitched the lining on this jacket while fishing (see the finished jacket below). The lining is hand-dyed (and not with fish blood and guts :)) Fishing and sewing might be an odd combo, but it worked. How about you, any fun sewing stories that can beat fishing? Now be nice 🙂 Cheers xoxo Angela
Hi Angela,
I have a Brother Innov-Is 50 sewing machine. Do you think the original feet that the machine came with is suitable for quilting the lining or should I purchase a quilting feet, if so which one is better?
The open-toe or just the plain walking foot? Some bloggers said that it is a necessity, but when I watched one of your jeans video I think you mentioned that the Brother’s feet can handle the thickness, because it pivots.
Many thanks!
Katalin
Yesterday, while I was at work, my coiusin stole my iphone
and tested too see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she
can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83
views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share
it with someone!
An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto
a colleague who was doing a little research on this. And he actually ordered me lunch due
to the fact that I found it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending some time to talk about this
subject here on your internet site.
Angela, What pattern is being used for the class?
What pattern is the white jacket above, with the black trim?
It is beautiful 🙂
Thanks Ann 🙂 The jacket in the photo is one of my designs, not a pattern that’s out. The black trim is black yarn crocheted – single crochet and then hand stitched on. I live in this jacket 🙂
Angela, The one thing I hate*** about your classes : I have so much fun taking them and they are over way too “quickly”, SO, when done the class, they leave you wanting for more ,and more now please. lol. 🙂 🙂 🙂
this class sounds awesome. I love to make Chanel style jackets. It is My facorite thing to sew.
**** And you know I really love all your classes 🙂 and patterns (still looking for denim 😉
Wow! It souds wonderful. It is a Chanel way of sewing a jacket… very tempting as I have at least 4 fabrics in my stash waiting to be transform into such couture jacket.
I did some cross stitching while we drove little piglets to market several years back in an old pick up truck on bumpy roads in rural Alabama! (Kinda hard to hit the holes in Adia22 Count fabric.) We raised red Dur-rock Hogs for three years. Probably did some hand work as well. It was fun! I always make use of my time.
Hi Carol,
Now that’s a good one! 🙂 too funny!
